Blah blah, info dumping wall of text. I hate to info dump, but it's hard to start this story without it.

For those who can't be bothered to read the entire thing, or aren't familiar with what's going on (and even a 40K fan might not if you don't care much about the Adeptus Mechanicus), here's the details:

This is an after action report from the captain of a fleet of ships sent to explore a mostly uncharted region of the galaxy, at the very edges of the Imperium.

The Adeptus Mechanicus often send out these "explorator" fleets looking for ancient lost knowledge, and in this case The Wanderer, a smaller ship among the fleet, was sent out ahead to begin scouting the region. They came across a curious planet that they hoped would hold such ancient secrets. What they found, was something else altogether...
